JUST IN: Ripple Charges At The SEC Demanding Non-Party Subpoenas
On August 3rd, 2022 Ripple Labs Inc submits a letter to Magistrate Judge Sarah Netburn requesting permission to serve non-party subpoenas to authenticate videos of seven SEC officials’ public remarks in connection with previous RFAs. The SEC does not consent to this which was clearly stated by Ripple. Meaning they have ben discussing this with SEC lawyers privately.
Since recently the court has ordered for the William Hinman emails to be released, which was a huge win for Ripple, it seems that now Ripple wants to get as much ammunition as they can to defend themselves from the abuse of power by the SEC, which would give them the best chances at defeating the SEC and allowing XRP to become the first truly regulated cryptocurrency in the United States of America.
